The industry as we know it is changing. The pace of innovation has more and more increased. We want to make best use of cutting-edge technology in Volkswagen Group Logistics. A systematic process will help us to quickly identify suitable innovations and employ them within the Group.

Scouting for the "Volkswagen Logistics Innovation Day 2016"

The automotive future is shaped by societal conditions and trends. New technologies speed up the change process. Globally operating companies are therefore required to continually examine their environment for innovative solutions and their feasibility.

With the support of the Institute for Production Management (IPM), Volkswagen Group Logistics were looking for innovative solutions for their logistics processes. The invitation to tender assumed that a restricted procedure was followed. Many companies took part and profited from the direct contact with the Volkswagen management. They had the chance to present and discuss their innovations.

The IPM has exceeded even our highest expectations when supporting us with the concept and management of the Volkswagen tender “Logistics Innovation”. We look forward to further cooperation with Professor Walther and his team when employing the innovative logistics solutions.
— Reinhard de Vries, Head of Plant Logistics Wolfsburg, Volkswagen AG
